Caslow's Not A Phase EP gets released
The EP includes renowned collaborators such as SayWeCanFly, Micah Martin & more
The Canadian/American duo Caslow are introducing a new sound in their brand new EP “Not A Phase”, which is out now on Future Generation. The EP is an electric blend of the nostalgic 2000s pop punk sound and more modern melodic bass, showcasing their musical talent to adapt and merge flawlessly punk rock and electronic music. ‘Not A Phase’ features a handful renowned vocalists such as SayWeCanFly, Micah Martin and Manno, and is expected to catch the attention of those who are diving into the new era of EDM that many refer to as “rocktronic”. The rapidly rising duo hopes that by releasing the EP, their fans will understand the importance of the inner need of evolving as an artist to achieve personal growth.
“Your Boyfriend’s Car”, with the popular indie/emo rock artist SayWeCanFly, puts an emphasis on the EP’s pop punk side, demonstrating their ability to seamlessly blend different genres together. “Working with Braden was simply effortless and a pleasure. Brody and I have known Braden since the earlier years before Caslow, and to work with someone who has such in depth experience producing and performing was a true honor for us.”
“In Love” with Micah Martin and Sadbois is the most energetic track from the EP, being a nostalgic mix of melodic bass and rock influences. The song takes on a classic “rocktronic” vibe thanks to Micah Martin’s signature vocals. “I personally couldn’t see any other vocalist fitting the track as well as Micah and his unique voice”, says Natale from Caslow.
“Parachute is the most personalized track from the EP as we were physically able to collaborate on the song in person. Living in two different countries makes that rather difficult for us as a norm. That being said, we were able to thoughtfully think of ways that would make this track more unique than we ever could on a video call. The writing, instrumentation and production were thought through more critically than our previous releases, allowing us to capitalize on such an amazing vocal provided by Manno.”
