Swedish House Mafia’s iconic single gets a trap treatment
Egzod & Lunis return to Future Generation for their 3rd releases on the label
“People can you hear me, here’s a message that I’m sending now”… Ringing a bell? To all the fans of the modern era of EDM, the iconic single ‘Leave The World Behind’ by Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello shouldn’t come across as unknown, being quite often connected to Ultra Music Festival and the beautiful sunset view over Bayfront Park. The original release played a big role, like the trio’s music in general, in creating and shaping up the golden years of EDM. Today, the highly emerging artists Egzod & Lunis joined forces to revive LTWB’s iconic melodies and lyrics with their electric trap cover, bringing us all back to 2009.
Egzod explains the reasoning behind the cover: “Leave The World Behind” was one of the first House tracks that made me want to get into making music and DJ-ing back in 2009. It’s a song that is attached to a lot of my great early day memories, and so I wanted to revisit it. Besides, as the world & economy is finally starting to reopen again after more than a year of demoralization, I hope that this song will inspire people to focus on the positive things and keep moving forward with what makes them happy.
Lunis continues: “Leave the world behind you… These words resonate differently during this strange phase we are all living in, deprived of live music and the exchange that this implies, with the artist and the audience. What if we all took a moment to close our eyes, and forget the world’s problems by letting ourselves be carried away to the rhythm of this 2021-rework of Swedish house Mafia hit single?”
Coming off hot from the release of his ‘Revolution EP’ on NCS, the French/Portuguese producer Egzod continues where he left off by teaming up with the highly booming French vocalist Lunis. Just like Egzod, Lunis’ trend has been on an explosive rise since the beginning of 2020, having
established herself as one of today’s cover hit machines with singles like ‘Apologize’, ‘Zombie’ and ‘Death Bed’, propelling the mega-talented artist to over 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
